  2. Why do you think that the fat man (bear) was so bitter towards Crispin. Do you think something bad happened in his life to make him this way? Explain

    1. I think that he's going insane because he's alone most of his life and that he's not happy and is waiting to die

    2. I think that the guy was bitter I think that because tons of people in this book are facing some tough times. Maybe his wife left him or something because there has to be a reason for the follow events.

    3. I think that bear saw him as an easy target, also bear didn't like what Crispin was saying about treason and was mocking him for that.

  3. Do you think the guy who was hung deserved it? Why or why not?

    1. I think that the guy who was hung didn't deserve it. I think that because the church was just trying to get his money for the church and punished him because he wouldn't give as much because he was poor and didn't have much to give. Another reason is maybe he was also running from them just like Crispin is and that is why he was killed. That is why I think that he didn't deserve to be hung.

    2. I think that he probably had a similar experience as Crispin, he was accused for theft then he tried to run and hide but was caught.

    3. I think he deserved it because he was probably hung because he did something really bad. Another possibility is that he was blamed for something he didn't do.

    1. No it was not fair that he was called a wolfs head because he really didn't do anything wrong.

      Delete
    2. I also don't think it was fair because he didn't steal anything

      Delete
    3. I do not think it was fair because he actually didn't do anything bad and the steward blamed him for something he didn't do

  5. If you were in Crispin's shoes would you try to escape bear or stay true to your oath that he made you say? Explain.

    1. I would stay with the oath because then people will just think that he can't keep a promise and bear will go after him if he didn't keep the oath.

    3. I would stay to the oath because I wouldn't want God to strike me down because I broke the oath. Bear might kill me if I don't keep it.

  6. Do you think that the Crispin will do something significant in the book that will be about his father or mother?Share.

    1. I think that he's going to go to a city and find one of his father's friends or something. Or he'll find out more about his father or more about his mother.

    2. Yes, because it is a mystery about who his dad is and it would be cool to find out.

    3. I think at the end of the book he will come back to his mothers grave a pray, I also think he will search for where his father is

    1. Do you think that Bear had a special connection to the place that Bear was singing so that's why he was singing? Explain

  8. Where do you think bear is taking Crispin? Explain.

  9. "let me play the music well. Let me be a credit to my master. And I beg Thee, let me have a soul, that I too may sing and dance like Bear. And, Saint Giles and do not let him betray me." I choose this passage because Crispin is saying that he wants to be a better person and that he is praying for bear and his own future.

    1. This is Literary Luminary and it is chapters 26-30

    2. I disagree with what you said, it think that Crispin just didn't want to die, but he realized that bear does care for him and does want him to succeed so in that way I agree.

      Delete
    3. I dissagree with you because I just think Crispin wants to stay alive and he's praying for bear that he won't kill him

      Delete
    4. I disagree with you because he prayed so that he could play well in the village and that he was afraid for his life.

    5. Good discussion - interesting that you all disagree but for different reasons - why do you think Crispin is asking for a soul?

  10. chapter 26-30
    Literary Luminary
"At a village north of here, I'm not sure which, a boy went mad. after robbing the manor house, he killed a priest." I hastily looked down lest I give myself away. But as I shifted, I became aware that the one-eyed young man was staring right at me.'

I think that this passage is important because it shows that all the villages are alerted of the lie that Crispin robbed the manor so it is a lot more dangerous for Crispin than he thought. It also shows that the one-eyed man might play a role in the hunt for Crispin.

    1. I disagree, I think that the boy is just mad at bear for stealing from him and making a fool out of him.

      Delete
    2. I don't think that the villagers are alerted yet. It might just be him who saw Crispin shift and might know about it. I think that he's going to tell the other villagers, they're going to have to escape and, like what I said, Bear's going to fend them off as Crispin runs.

  11. I agree with what you are saying and that the one-eyed man may be a part of hunting Crispin. It is probably scary for him because he has been being hunted for a long time and probably someday he is going to get caught for his actions. Good Job

  12. chapters 26-30

"Crispin," he said solemnly, "if there is any trouble-ever-you're not to pay any mind to me. Just run"

I think that this is important because later in the book, they're going to run into trouble and Bear is going to have to try to hold them back as Crispin runs. Bear is probably going to die.

    1. I agree with you that bear and Crispin will run into Aycliff, and Crispin will run and hide but I think that bear will not die but instead fight of Ayecliff and kill him.

    2. I agree with you and I also think this is important because it shows Bear cares about Crispin.

    3. I agree with you that this is important because it shows that Bear is seeing Crispin is a different way than he did and that they are getting to know each other more and more.

  13. Chapter 26-30

"you are right. I should have listened more. But, Crispin, there must be something more here, more than you know."

I think this is important because it shows that bear actually cares for Crispin, he doesn't just keep him around just to be his servant but for each others help.

    1. I agree with that.

    2. I agree with you, but I also think that Bear is trying to protect Crispin from the things he doesn't know.

    3. I agree with this being an important part in the chapters because they are starting to learn some respect for each other now.
